Marvellous Multiple Mosaics

Every now and then I have a few days where I attempt to make a dent in my (cough, four boxes of, cough) retired DSP. I very rarely make much of a dent, but I do try, and as I give a lot of cards to charities it makes making multiples relatively easy.

I used the two-step Verdant Garden stamp set, coordinating the colours with the DSP panels, and I kept it simple by leaving a gap in the mosaic area for the greeting, rather than adding another layer. a few little flowers, pearl accents, and some punched sprigs of green and they're ready to go.

And the boxes of DSP go back in the cupboard for another day 😂

All That Glisters Is Probably Gold

Is there anyone else out there who hoards foils and Speciality DSP? Keeping them for a "special occasion"? I hold my hand up - that is me all over! So I decided to keep things simple but special for the scrapbook page. I only had two photos I wanted to use, but also used a postcard from IKEA (my mum LOVES IKEA - I think she's hoping that's what heaven is like), and popped them on a whole sheet (eek!) of gold foil.  I wondered whether to add some embellishments in the corners of the photos, or some borders or matting layers on the photos, but in the end I decided against it.

I just wish I could get a photo which did the shininess justice!

Tell Me A Story

I'm a bookworm, and I will happily admit it. So I had to snap up the "Check You Out" stamp set as soon as it was released - and how cute are these little critters?! And I think they go really well with the "definition" stamps from Praiseworthy Prose too. I need to get on and play some more with this set - it's definitely in my top five at the moment!

Amazing Stamps

I LOVE the Everything Amazing stamp set - it's a brilliant idea to leave the spaces to add in words to vary the sentiment. I wanted to have a play with using strips of colour, which seems to be quite a trend at the moment, and I liked the result. As we all know, I do love a rainbow!

But I did dig out some old favourite, long retired dies (Love Notes) to step it up a bit for Mr Badger's birthday. If a bit of rainbow is good, more rainbow must be better, right? 😂

Finishing Off

Do you ever make a card, but it hangs around your desk because it doesn't seem quite, well, finished? That's what happened here. I had used a similar design for another card, and wanted to try it out with the big flowers from Floral Essence, but it didn't quite look right to me.

Until I ran a butterfly-based class, and I was messing around with colouring in, and voila! The finishing touch. I'm much happier with this card now, and I might even have a go at making a few duplicates for a couple of charity sales I've got coming up.

Walrus On My Mind

I do love me a bit of watercolour. I also love me a walrus: believe it or not, I did a project on walruses for my Science GCSE. Everyone else was choosing cute animals like sea otters and polar bears, but I felt strongly that the mighty walrus deserved a piece of the action too.

The "We'll Walrus Be Friends" stamp set is lovely. The little fish are ever so cute, and I did enjoy making this card for my brother's birthday. Unfortunately I forgot to actually write the card, and just put it in the envelope, which he found hilarious. I suspect he may repurpose this, and that I might be getting it back for my own birthday!

Missing Pieces

I've had need for a few sympathy cards recently. This one features the leaves from Verdant Garden, which is fast becoming one of my favouite stamps, and one that isn't from Stampin'Up!, but that I had commissioned with my favourite sympathy greeting on it.

The whole lot has been cut with the Puzzle Pieces dies, with the "missing piece" still there, but slightly detatched from the main image. It's an idea I've had since I got the dies, but haven't made up until now.
