Many Happy Returns (to Birthdays!)

After all that Christmas, I think I need a bit of a birthday fix! These are both favourite sets of mine, and ones that I really should use more! The top one was so easy to do, I really must keep it in mind next time I have a run of cards to do. The car one was a bit more time consuming, but only in terms of having to get the dies out and grunge up the edges a little. All in all, quite a good result for the time invested, I think!

Play Your Own Kind of Music

'Tis the season of thank you cards, so I've been having a play with some retired notecards and Snow Front stamp set, but also with the brand new Music From the Heart set from the Mini Catalogue that has just launched. There are a lot of sets in the catalogue based around hobbies: cooking, fashion, running, golf, music etc, as well as loads of other sets: I just need more time to get stuck in!

Decisions, Decisions...

Do you ever get that thing where you can't decide between elements on a card? I wasn't sure whether to go rainbow or keep it plain for the border mat layer on this card. There is already quite a lot going on with the beautiful new Birthday Bonanza DSP, but I really can't decide. I might just have to stick with one of each...

The Gift That Keeps on Giving

I've had some fun with gift packaging over Christmas! These first little box-things are my answer to packaging small jar candles, and they are my own design, although I'm sure I'm not the first to have done similar! I think packaging really helps people feel special, and I like to think people get to enjoy pretty packaging for a while before the big day, so the present ends up being twice the gift 😀

And this was the DVD box I made for Mama Badger's birthday present, from the Mosaic Mood DSP, which I think is really lovely and has probably been overshadowed somewhat by the papers in the Autumn/Winter Catalogue. I won't be forgetting about it though!

And as with all boxes, these are all sturdy enough to be recycled for other gifts, so hopefully they really will keep on giving!

Bee Busy

It's very nearly Sale-a-Bration season, and my absolute favourite thing out of the freebie brochure is the Golden Honey DSP.  It has no colour, apart from black, white and gold, but the sheets with gold designs on them colour up beautifully, as you can see here. I sacrificed a whole sheet (shock horror!) to trying out some different colours, and then had a go at a really simple card with the results. How pretty is that? I can see there being some more of these in my future - can't wait to have a play with the other colours too!

Happy Christmas!

Well, here are some of the things I haven't been able to post until now!

Clockwise from top left:

Packaging for coasters, featuring the Feels Like Frost papers and heat embossed tag

Mr Badger's Christmas card, using the Shine Bright stamp set

Some of the coasters I gave as gifts to family this year

The Cub's Christmas Card, using Let It Snow DSP

Happy Christmas to you all!

Pink Christmas

Pink might not be your first thought for Christmas decorations, but I'm really enjoying using the muted Rococo Rose for some of mine. I might have made a slight mistake in colouring in the holly (I was going for the berries, intending to make the berries Mint Macaron, but they ended up the other way around: the Cub thought this was the most hilarious thing ever), but hey: add a bit of sparkle and we could just have the most fabulous Christmas ever!
