A Little R&R

One of the symptoms of meningitis is memory loss, and I'm particularly fuzzy on the couple of months before I fell ill, as well as some words (I had about three days where I couldn't remember the word "meningitis" so kept telling people I had myxomatosis 🐇 - d'oh!).

Not much has helped with the latter, except patience, but the former has been helped enormously by my scrapbook. Looking through what I'd already done, and then doing some more work on it has brought back some really happy memories. I still have a way to go, but for the moment I'm enjoying catching up in a paper-based way!

Checking In

It's been a little while since I posted a make here. I queued some to cover the time I was on holiday, but managed to get meningitis while I was away, so I've spent three weeks away from home, and I'm pretty hazy about what happened for most of it!

I'm back home now though, and these are the cards I have made for the amazing staff who worked with me, took care of me, and put up with me whinging about why lines were still in me (and there were a lot!) and could I go home yet? After two weeks they gave in and said yes, and I don't blame them - I'd have driven me mad too 😀

It may be a little while before I post again, but I will be back properly before very long, I promise you!

PS Panda is retired, as is the ribbon, but the "Thank You So Very Much" is from Butterfly Gala and the "THANKS" paper I made myself using "A Wish for Everything" and about 10 different inks. I'll definitely by trying something like this again.

Housework Whenever (or... never...)

I'm so pleased the Crafting Forever stamp set is carrying over, not least because it includes my favourite ever sentiment which says "Crafting forever, housework whenever"! As you might imagine, many of my friends are also crafty in one way or another, so it's always nice to be able to send them a card that reflects their interests - and mine!

Little Elephant

Sticking with my resolution to use Little Elephant more, I had lots of fun using nearly all the stamps in the set for this multi-panel baby card. I've even snuck in a little bit of the brand new lace trim from the new catalogue at the bottom there.

And now I'm making a resolution to use my Swirly Frames stamps more...

Tweeting Up A Storm

I haven't had any birds in my stamp collection for a while. I don't think of myself as a "pretty" crafter - I'm more likely to choose bold, graphic designs - and yet I so often fall back on florals, etc, that choosing these little guys was a smart choice.  They are from the Free as a Bird set, and are a dream to colour in. These are all done using the Watercolour Pencils, which give a softer look than the Blends, and I think work better for this style of card.

A quick note about the yellow card for all you frugal crafters out there: I only used one doily! I cut the centre out, and used it as a second, smaller piece, while the outer piece sits behind the main image.

I even (and forgive the abundance of retired product) gave them a Christmas makeover! Yep, in May. And that's not even a record for me 😁🎅
